The area of land known informally as Ocean Grove Spit is Wadawurrung Country. Bukareeyoo is the new name for this area of land. Bukareeyoo (Book ar ree yoo) is a Wadawurrung word that means ‘between’.

We are developing a Community Engagement Framework for Barwon Coast. This framework will guide how we work with the community for the next five years.
Caravan and Camping Parks Master Plan
Over the past 12 months we have been developing a ten-year master plan for the caravan parks and campgrounds managed by Barwon Coast. This includes the Breamlea Caravan Park, Barwon Heads Caravan Park, Riverview Family Caravan Park and the Riverside Campground.
The master plan will guide management of key cultural and environmental values and infrastructure renewal, so the visitor experience is maintained at a high standard. It will ensure the caravan parks are adaptable to a changing climate and market trends.
