Community Volunteer Organisations
There are many ways to help care for the coast as a volunteer. We work closely with a number of active and passionate local community groups who are always looking for new members to join.
Volunteering is an opportunity to help out your local community, meet new people, learn new things, and explore new interests.
There’s no such thing as a typical volunteer. Everyone has something to offer and there are roles to suit different interests, goals and abilities. It could be just an hour out of your week or something more regular there are lots of ways to fit volunteering into your life.
If you are new to the area or are looking to get involved in the community, why not join one of these friendly local groups.

Spotlight on Our Volunteers
EstuaryWatch is a successful citizen science program that supports community members to actively participate in the monitoring of estuary health. There are EstuaryWatch groups all over Victoria. The data they collect is used to make decisions about how to manage waterways.
Barwon EstuaryWatch volunteers are passionate about the health of the Barwon River Estuary and enjoy meeting once a month to collect valuable data on its condition.
Anyone is welcome to join Barwon EstuaryWatch. You don’t need any special skills just an interest in the Barwon Estuary and a willingness to learn how to be a citizen scientist.
