There are many ways to help care for the coast as a volunteer. We work closely with a number of active and passionate local community groups who are always looking for new members to join them.
Everyone has something to offer and there are roles to suit different interests, skills and goals. It could be just an hour out of your week or something more regular – there are lots of ways to fit volunteering into your life.
If you are new to the area or are looking to get involved in the community, why not join one of these friendly local groups.
EstuaryWatch is a citizen science program that supports community members to monitor estuary health. There are EstuaryWatch groups all over Victoria. The data they collect is used to make decisions about how waterways are managed.
Barwon EstuaryWatch volunteers are passionate about the health of the Barwon River Estuary and enjoy meeting once a month to collect valuable data on its condition.
Anyone is welcome to join Barwon EstuaryWatch. You don’t need any special skills, just an interest in the Barwon Estuary and a willingness to learn how to be a citizen scientist.
