The playground upgrades at Riverview Family Caravan Park are now complete, with the finishing touch installed earlier this month – stunning new signage featuring Wadawurrung artwork.
The two playgrounds, Yaluk (meaning river) and Kunuwarra (meaning black swan), were installed late last year, and have been enhanced with gardens of native plants. They now feature signs linking children’s movements with local animals, along with the Wadawurrung language names for these animals.
The designs were created by Wadawurrung Artist Billy-Jay Otoole (Papul Art) and developed in collaboration with the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation (WTOAC).
These playgrounds give children and families the chance to connect to Wadawurrung Country and Culture through play.
We thank WTOAC and Billy-Jay for their work in bringing this special space to life for our community and visitors.
