Consultation extended – Breamlea Playground upgrade designs

Community consultation period now open until 15 August

Barwon Coast is progressing the replacement of the Breamlea Caravan Park playground, in line with the final Caravan and Camping Parks Master Plan, released in December 2023 following camper, community and stakeholder engagement.

The project will involve replacing the existing playground, which is ageing, in poor condition and no longer meets current safety and accessibility standards. The new playground will cater to children aged 6 to 12 and include modern equipment, landscaping, sand play, and improved seating — all connected to the nearby basketball space.

In response to community and camper feedback, we have extended the consultation period to ensure more people can participate and contribute to the design and location.

We’ve also added a set of expanded Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to address the key concerns and queries raised so far, including the reason for the playground location, safety, tree removal, the consultation process, and more.

While the playground replacement project was confirmed as an action in the Master Plan, your input will help shape important decisions around the design and features.

  • Visit the dedicated project web page for more information and 11 newly added FAQs
  • Survey closes: Friday, 15 August, 2025
  • Join us at the drop-in info session: Saturday 26 July, Breamlea Caravan Park.

We remain committed to a genuine and transparent consultation process, and we encourage all community members and park users to share their feedback before the close of the extended consultation period.
