About the role

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Officer role serves as a collaborative resource between Barwon Coast and Bellarine Bayside, jointly ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and providing advisory support on Occupational Health and Safety matters relevant to both organisations. This collaboration aims to enhance efficiency in implementing safety protocols and fostering a culture of workplace safety across both entities. The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Officer is responsible for a range of tasks to ensure that health and safety is imbedded within the organisations, including: Ensure the WHS manual is up to date and accurate by writing, reviewing or developing a range of workplace health and safety documents including policies and procedures; Ensure the implementation of WHS health and safety documents in accordance with the WHS Manual; Maintain a safe work place for all by implementing and enforcing legislation, policies and procedures by stopping any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy; Maintaining Barwon Coast safety software, “Safety Champion” and further developing its usage, whilst establishing ‘safety champion’ as the safety software for Bellarine Bayside. Work with all staff to promote a safety culture
