Manager - Caravan Park
The Barwon Coast Committee of Management was incorporated in July 1995. It is responsible to the Minister for Environment for managing approximately 15 kilometers of Coastal Crown Land in and around Ocean Grove / Barwon Heads. Barwon Coast operates the Barwon Heads Caravan Park; the Riverview Family Caravan Park, Ocean Grove and the Riverside Camping Area, Ocean Grove. They offer caravan and camping sites and on-site accommodation for rental which forms the commercial basis of Barwon Coast’s business. These parks produce approximately $7m revenue annually which is applied primarily to the operation of the Caravan Parks, natural resources management, maintenance and improvements within the Barwon Coast jurisdiction.
Riverview Family Caravan Park
The features of the Riverview Family Caravan Park are its natural environment, excellent location on the Barwon River Estuary, good views, and access to the ocean, providing for water based and other recreational activities. The park is walking distance to a Golf Club and a Bowling Club.
The Park is comprised of 505 sites being: 380 twelve month permit holders, 114 Powered sites, 4 Unpowered sites and 7 One bedroom cabins.
The Caravan Park Manager is responsible for the daily management of the Caravan Park and works closely with the Manager - Accommodation Services to ensure the strategic objectives of the Coastal Marine Management plan are met and the park operates safely within regulatory guidelines.
The successful operation of the caravan park includes but is not limited to ensuring park accommodation, amenities, facilities and surrounds are maintained and presented to a high standard of quality reflecting the needs and expectations of customers.
The goal of the Caravan Park Manager is to enhance the customer experience.
We are looking for a proactive individual who has experience in Caravan Park Management or a similar hands on general management position and who is focused on providing premier customer service whilst maintaining a safe, fun and enjoyable place to work.
The successful incumbent will be an all-rounder and someone who can balance getting their hands dirty, managing a team and attending to general management tasks. For example mowing grass, cleaning amenities, making customer reservations, checking in guests, performing minor maintenance tasks as well as creating rosters, planning work, resolving customer concerns, organising trades, approving invoices, working within budgets etc.
We need someone who can hit the ground running, therefore:
- Experience and knowledge in State Government policies relating to Caravan Park Management (highly regarded);
- Knowledge of Crown Land Management (highly regarded);
- RMS 9+ experience or a similar booking program (favourable);
- Experience in building and planning processes (favourable).
- Proven experience in building cohesive and high performing teams is essential;

Living Arrangements and Hours of Work
A three bedroom house is available for the Caravan Park manager to rent at a discounted rate. A requirement of the role is to be on-call regularly outside of normal business hours, therefore either living on site or having the ability to attend the park quickly and at short notice is necessary.
The role is award free with a competitive annual salary of around $70k.
