A major project commenced on 19th June 2012 to replace the existing stairs and walkway that connects the Barwon Heads promenade and the Barwon Heads Bluff car park and walk
The stairs across the face of the Barwon Heads Bluff are a major link in the pathway system across the Barwon Coast.
The timber stairs have been in place for some considerable period of time and it has been decided to replace the substantial centre section of the stairs.
The work which will cost in excess of $100,000 is being undertaken in winter to reduce the impact on users and will result in the stairs being closed for up to two months.
Signage has been installed directing walkers around the worksite with a short diversion across the back of the Barwon Heads Caravan Park
