13th Beach Trail
About this page
Barwon Coast, seeks to ensure that safe access is provided to our local beaches.
In recent years we have identified that safe beach access is required along 13th Beach especially for young cyclists (surfers) and pedestrians.
We have now developed a draft plan featuring 3 individual trails which we believe will provide safe access to 13th Beach whilst minimising impacts on the significant environmental and cultural values of the coastal reserve.
This draft plan has been developed after taking advice from specialist flora and fauna consultants, the Department of Sustainability and Environment and taking into account community input from previous consultation.
The 3 proposed trails to 13th Beach are:
- 13th Beach 33W “Signpost” car park to the Barwon Heads - 13th Beach Surf Life Saving Club on the inland side of 13th Beach Rd.
- Stephens Parade to 13th Beach 33W “Signpost” car park / beach access stairs
- Stephens Parade to 13th Beach 32W “Beacon” car park / beach access stairs
Enquiries regarding the proposed trails can be made via e-mail to: office@barwoncoast.com.au ; by mail to Barwon Coast c/- Post Office Barwon Heads Vic3227 or by phone 5254 1118.
Submissions regarding the draft plan closed on 11th February 2011 and matters raised within those submissions are now being reviewed by our Committee members to assist in the development of the final plan.
