Ocean Grove Sea Wall
About this page
Construction of the Ocean Grove seawall and promenade was completed in early November 2008 replacing the previous 200M long timber seawall built in the 1960's to protecte the Surf Beach complex that houses the Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club and the privately operated Cafe.
The seawall feature a new access ramp that meets the needs of people of all abilities , enabling wheelchairs to get from the promenade to the beach.
The ramp has been well received and over the 2008/09 summer training and events were run by the Disabled Surfers Association
The Victorian Govenrment provided funding in excess of $1m for the $1.4 project with Barwon Coast funding the balance.
