Barwon River Trail - Ocean Grove
The upgrade of the Barwon River Trail alongside the Riverview Family Caravan Park commenced in Spring 2007 with the widening of an initial 100m of the trail atop the River Wall plus the planting of saplings to replace a number of dying trees.
With the success of the initial stage, the full length of the trail was widened in the Winter and Spring of 2008. The trail was widened to 2.5m to cater for increased usage by walkers. joggers, cyclists etc and at the same time was raised up above the currently recognised flood level of the river.
During Winter & Spring 2009 revegetation continued plus the construction of new access steps onto the river beach to complete the project.
