Barwon Coast works with a broad range of partners in managing the foreshore.
Those partners include:
- Department of Sustainability and Environment
- City of Greater Geelong
- Corangamite Catchment Management Authority
- Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative
- Parks Victoria
- a number of community groups including Life Saving Clubs, community associations, friends’ groups and sporting clubs.
These are all important stakeholders with varying degrees of responsibility and “ownership” of the area.
There are also agencies that have responsibilities for areas adjoining the Barwon Coast foreshore, including:
- City of Greater Geelong (reserves at Buckley Park, Bancoora & Breamlea)
- Barwon Water (Black Rock area)
- Parks Victoria (Barwon Bluff Marine Sanctuary and Lake Connewarre State Game Reserve).
